Chapter 16 SS 1 - Arisa’s POV, Cheat mode ON

“Ufufufu, Master is out. Time for secret power up so that I can surprise Master and save him when he is in danger, then make him fall in love with me” said Arisa in low voice.

Arisa is currently in her room alone.

“Must find and persuade Core 2-chan hehe, and I know just the right thing” Arisa said in mind.

Arisa slowly open her room door and goes to the kitchen where Core 2-chan is there. She was busy eating some desserts prepared by Lulu. Lulu in maid clothes is busy preparing cake for tonight’s dinner.

“Arisa, you have woken up? I will heat up the Hamburg steak for you, just wait for a minute” said Lulu when she noticed Arisa has peeked her head inside the kitchen.

“Nyuru nyuru” (Tama)

“Ah, don’t ninja away the fried chicken. They are for Satou’s lunchpack” (Lulu)

Lulu has tried a new recipe of frying chicken dipped in spice powder procured from Muno territory. She heard from Satou that it used to be a taste from his homeworld, so she tried it with some help from Muno castle’s cook.

“Delish?” (Tama)

“Nano desu” (Pochi)

Both of them appeared with their heads popping out from the shadow under the ‘refrigerator’ cupboard Master made using ice magic. Besides Master, only Nee-sama with sharp eyes and presence perception can detect both of them so quickly.

“Don’t you already have Hamburg steak this morning? Don’t the school canteen provide food too for lunch break?” (Lulu)

“No meat?” (Tama)

“Pochi smelled nice meat desu, can’t resist desuyo” (Pochi)

“Hmm, you guys are still too weak. Let this cheat expert Arisa show you that if you don’t have resistance or weak at certain things, we can overcome it now that Master has already provide us” (Arisa)

“Stronger?” (Tama)

“Pochi is strong desu. But Meat-san is even stronger desu. Pochi cannot win desu. How can Pochi win against Meat-san desuyo?” (Pochi)

“The answer lies in……. (Arisa makes a pose of a detective that has found the answer to a case) Core 2-chan! (points finger at Core 2 face)”. (Arisa)

Core 2-chan who is busy eating chiffon cake that Lulu has experimented look at Arisa in surprise.

“”Eh!”” (Pochi and Tama)

“Master is the only master, won’t follow request that is not from Master” (Core 2)

“Then, do you want to get even closer to Master? Do you want to wear dress and be next to Master?” (Arisa).

“Master is always near me, so I’m happy already” said Core 2 while nodding her head low to cover her blush.

“Do you want to do naughty stuff with Master?” (Arisa)

“Arisa!?” (Lulu)

“Please let me finish my case first Nee-sama” (Arisa)

“Uuuuu. What ‘naughty’ stuff Master wants to do to me?” (Core 2 said while blushing)

“Remember when Dejima Labyrinth got attacked by higher command?” (Arisa)

The memory of Master pouring his thick hot milky white Magic Essence right into her deepest part of the core and dye her insides with it stirred the mind of Core 2 that she stopped moving and starts drooling.

Arisa did ask Satou regarding the incident and from what Satou told her, someone of higher authority has been overriding the directive in all dungeons during that period. They suspect that it may be an action from God, but why would God want to spread miasma outside of dungeons is still unanswered.

“Uhh, uhh, Master”.  (Core 2 is breathing heavily)

“Now imagine Master can give you that ‘naughty’ stuff every day” said Arisa. Arisa have not understood what Satou did that caused Core 2 to go so happy, so she just goes with the flow. Meanwhile Satou just sneezed while he is studying primeval magic with Heiron and Ancient Dragon-kun.

“Ahh! Ahh! Master! Master!”. (Core 2)

“Relax, your time will come Core 2-chan. For now, let’s go to the labyrinth and get some cheat that Master has provided us” (Arisa)

Arisa gave her small stash of chilled jelly made from Blue Kelp powder to Core-2 chan from her Dimensional pouch to calm her down.

“Great?” (Tama)

“Pochi wants to be Zubann, Kababababa, Pshiing and show Master peerless fearless nanodesu. Then Master will pet Pochi a lot desuyo.” (Pochi gestured with her cute holy sword)

“Yes, that’s the spirit! (nasal breath with eyes closed). Let’s start with getting all kinds of resistance and passive skills we can get. Gift orbs are so convenient since they don’t consume skill points and as long as Core 2-chan here can make them, we can get them.” (Arisa)

“But didn’t Satou warned us that making gift orbs consume a lot of soul points?” said the worried Lulu.

“Yes he did, but now Core 2-chan has the Evil Philosophy as the power source, the dungeon can get a lot of soul points without needing to kill any adventurer. ” countered Arisa. “Nee-sama, let’s get stronger so that we can surprise our Master with how strong we are and obtain his love. He is always such a worrywart. Not that I hate his nature, but he should at least trust us to be able to handle a Demon Lord or two” said Arisa.

“Since the fall of Kubooku kingdom, we have no place to go, and now Satou-sama provided everything through and through. I want to be everything for Satou-sama for everything he has done for us” said Lulu spiritedly, then blushed.

“Well said Nee-sama, but Master is no longer just for you and me. Well, I understand your sentiment. Tama and Pochi, can you ask Liza, Nana, Mia, Karina, Sistina, Sera and Zena if they want to come along to the labyrinth in Dejima?” said Arisa.

“Aye Aye Sir” (Tama and Pochi).

Mia just happened to return from giving lecture in Magic Academy and return though the portal.

“Nn, nice smell” (Mia said towards the fried chicken)

“Eh, Mia finally decided to eat meat voluntarily?” (Arisa)

“Spice nice. Meat don’t eat” (Mia making a circle then a cross with her hands)

Lulu explained that the spices from Muno territory have some of them originated from Boruenan forest, which Mia replied that they are also used by the elves in their cooking since the previous Hero-sama introduced them.

Meanwhile, Arisa changed to Sensei clothes and equip herself with a large spectacle frame. The spectacle has been enchanted with skill <Projection> and combined with Light skill from Arisa, can project what she pictured in her mind to a flat surface externally.

After all the girls have gathered in the Solitary Island, they make their way to the portal to Dejima Island’s dungeon. There, they meet Core-chan, and display the menu of skills that can be made to gift orbs available to all members.

Arisa use her spectacle to project the summary of what they learned from Core-chan and what is the direction they should be heading.

“There are currently 4 categories of skills available by gift orbs. There are common, rare, unique, and legendary skills. The unique skills are not to be confused with those possessed by reincarnated people or Parion heroes, as these skills are inferior. Core-chan said that common and most of the rare skills are available if we have sufficient soul points, miasma points, and mana. However, some rare, Unique, and Legendary skills all require special soul points that come from the trait of souls. That means it depends on the skills inherited by the soul before the person… (hesitates)dies.” (Arisa)

“Ummm, Arisa-sensei (putting hands up), what is soul points” asked Sistina. “As expected of a princess” muttered Arisa. Other girls are not concentrating in the seminar. Tama and Karina are catching butterflies with their hands, Pochi is lying down with drowsy eyes, Liza is standing guard behind and watches over the girls with a poker face, and Nana put Shiro and Crow who followed them to sleep. Only Mia, Sera, Zena, and Sistina are concentrating. Lulu is communicating with the brownies to facilitate communication and management at Solitary Island as to keep at least one person monitoring the safety of the base.

“Dungeons collects and absorbs soul points from dead creatures and adventurers within the dungeon. Any dead creatures that don’t belong to the dungeon will contribute to miasma points and soul points to the dungeon core, which will then be turn to items such as gift orbs.

“Why are we needing to gain skills quickly? Is it necessary for, you know, with Satou-sama?” asked Sera. “Is it true? We were told to attend Arisa-san’s seminar to prepare to be Satou-san’s b-bri” asked Zena before stopped by Sera.

“The answer to those questions is both yes and no. It is necessary to gain skill quickly in order to be of help to our Master-sama, but also it is not compulsory. By seeing how strong Master-sama is, our combined power is less than 5% of what Master-sama is capable of, be it in skill quality, power, speed, and resourcefulness. We may be a threat to Master-sama due to backdoor or be used as bargaining chips against Master-sama by future opponents, and some of them may even be Gods. Therefore, each of us must strife hard in order not to burden Master-sama.” (Arisa)

Sena drooped bitterly at the thought of facing Gods as enemies.

“Nn” (Mia)

“Don’t worry, you can pick to learn more skills and be stronger or wait and look first before you decide. However, the longer you wait, the higher chance that you will be in danger or be unable to help Master-sama when it matters” (Arisa)

“How do you intend to us to collect soul points? We can’t be killing off people that have unique or legendary skills to gain them in gift orb”. (Sistina)

“Soul points is limited but we can get quiet a lot of them from Evil Philosophy that Master-sama lately gave to Core-chan. Can I confirm it again, Core-chan indeed have how much soul points?” (Arisa)

“<Dungeon currently possessed: 5213 soul points>. <Proceed to extract more from Evil Philosophy?>” (Core)

“Continue under slow pace to preserve the shape balance of Evil Philosophy” (Arisa)

“Abundant” (Mia)

“That’s quite a lot of souls that reside in that dark substance. No wonder we have so much difficulty against the greater demon with so much power. Lucky ‘Light of Liberty’ group is not able to maximize the power to deal all of it in damage to the surroundings. How many lives were absorbed by such vile creation, I wonder?” (Sistina).

“Abominable. But since Satou-sama can handle it, I can accept. But I don’t agree we are utilizing this very abomination as our own power. God-sama may forsake us and release another <Judgement> on us”. (Sera)

“Both your thoughts are good, but I would still proceed to use this power if it means it can protect Master-sama” (Arisa)

“Nn. Protect Satou” (Mia)

“Anyhow, the need for soul points to make gift orbs is low and most common skills won’t need soul points to be made. Some rare or even common skills have wide variety of usage and if raised properly, can be as good as unique or legendary skills. Master-sama also mostly use common or rare skills but due to his cheat, they become so godly”. (Arisa)

“Since our levels are quiet high now, we can start utilizing skills that depends on our level”. (Sistina)

“Do you know you can raise your skill level by points?” (Arisa)

“I can’t” (Sistina, she read it somewhere that reincarnated people have access to points system).

“What is this points?” (Sera & Zena are in the dark)

“Geh, never mind” (Arisa)

Only Satou knew that Arisa was a reincarnated person officially, she was unsure how to inform others about her status.

“Don’t worry, we are all here to support each other and won’t think badly about your past history” (Sistina)

“Thank you” (Arisa)

“Regarding skills, we can gain proficiency of a skill as we train more or gain insight” (Sistina)

“Ok, there is that way huh”. (Arisa)

“Let’s start making gift orbs. Oh yes, before that, please pick gift orbs that provide passive skills that don’t consume any or much mana to maintain. By stacking more and more passive skills together and level them up, they can provide many beneficial boost that can be equal or better than powerful legendary active skills. Adding more resistance will be able to protect us against unexpected attacks and will be a good bonus under our sleeve. We will divide and guide those that are not following this meeting closely” (Arisa)

Arisa help Pochi, Tama, and Lulu. Sera help Nana with Crow and Shiro. Sistina help Liza and Karina. They go through the list of skills and picked all the resistance and passive skills that doesn’t consume mana or consume negligible amount of mana. Sera reluctantly join them after being persuaded by Arisa that Sera has used the Light element gift orb by Satou that came from dungeon.

Common skills consist of almost 100% miasma points and mana points

Common skills are:

All types of basic elemental magic mastery(Active).

The girls use them all.

All girls took the Chant orb to aid them in using magic for those who can’t chant.

Arisa instructed Pochi and Tama to try shooting out basic <Firebolt>. They both only made a small version of the spell, but it exhausts a lot of their mana and stamina.

“So it has poor fuel economy for being level 1 and outside from their natural talent huh” said Arisa.

Arisa tried her <Firebolt>. Due to her aptitude in <Fire Magic> and her level up in fire magic level, the <Firebolt> reached for the sky in a huge pillar. She then tried to summon a golem with her newly acquired <Earth Magic> mastery of level 1. The golem is as tall as a house, has its body made of clay, and can only withstand one hit from Karina’s orichalcum glove punch.

Arisa then raised the skill to level 2, using 2 skill points she accumulated. She then tried summoning golem again. This time, the size is twice larger than before, sturdier and she can summon another smaller golem at the same time. It has better control and speed, but still pulverized by Karina’s punch. Arisa tried having a mock battle royale with Princess Sistina, Mia, and Zena with their summons. All other girls can only manage to summon doll-sized mud golem with their earth magic at level 1. Nana ended up thinking that they should make more of these ‘young organisms’. When they use the same spell again and again, some girls got their earth element proficiency up. Arisa was surprised when she saw herself that the girls have their proficiency up without the need to allocate points. Arisa tried one of her basic element magic, <Aqua Shot> of water element again and again for many times, but unable to obtain proficiency. Only in the future, when she continued to spam the spell for many times more that she realized that she too could raise proficiency of a skill by continuous usage.

Rare skills composed of 80% miasma points and mana points, and about 20% of soul points

Rare skills available are:

All types of resistance (pain, magic, physical, hunger, poison, cuts, slow, decay, shadow, light, etc) (small)

The girls get all the necessary resistances and passive skills.

Magic Up (small)

Strength Up (small)

Body Control (minor)

Sera abstained from great majority of them except for Light-based skills.

“Let’s see. What do these spells do.” (Arisa)

7 dragons lay in front of Arisa. She performed advance elemental summon from the newly learned gift orbs. They are from earth, fire, water, air, darkness, light, and composite. Earth dragon can be turned to Iron Dragon when used with level 2 Earth element summon. Other summons can probably turn to their higher element when their level is higher. Arisa’s fire dragon can turn to Magma or Inferno dragon.  Arisa then test her sword skill obtained from rare gift orb on the summoned dragons with an orichalcum sword. They are destroyed easily except Iron dragon and Inferno dragon.

Unique Skills can only be obtained from certain talent that exists in particular person before becoming soul points. Consist of 40% soul points and 60% miasma and mana points or vice versa.

5.     Strength Up (Medium) x 5

Some ominous-sounding skills like <Demonification> were rejected.

Arisa, Sistina, Mia, and Lulu fought for a long period over some of the limited supply of unique gift orbs. Sera was in a bind and feeling left out but she can’t bring herself to use what she believe is taboo.

The girls fought with magic, summons, archery, swordsmanship, and Janken to determine a winner for both the orbs. Lulu who was weak in magic and swordsmanship fought hard to get a place. Sistina got the Beautify orb, and Arisa fought hard with Zena and Mia for the Appealing orb, but relinquish her prize to Lulu.

“There are also strange orbs mixed in between. Seems that Core-chan is able to produce orb based on Dungeon Master’s preference” said Arisa softly.

She tried to think of some chuunibyo-esque name with cool bonus effect like <Divinity>, <Death Stare>, <Infinite Everything>, but Core 2-chan gave her a silly look for all the strange skills she is trying to obtain. Naturally given to Pochi, <Nanodesu> skill apparently turns Pochi into adult form and multiplies her stats by x 4 and provides huge resistance from magic damage. Since it can stack with normal boost up skills, it is a welcomed change.

Tama selected an empty gift orb that was thought as a failure, and obtained an empty skill <>.

Karina Kick, a skill she made out of the move she loves so much. This skill allows Karina to increase her kicking damage by 20-fold, have a longer attack range, and dash her through a long distance quickly without damaging the caster.

“These three can really do something outrageous” thought Arisa.

Despite her trying, Arisa can’t create more Beautify or Appealing orb.

Legendary skills can only be obtained from rare talents that exist in powerful people before being turn into soul points. Consist of 80 to 100% soul points and 20 to 0% miasma and mana points.

Legendary skills available are:

1. Storage (unlimited) x 2

2. Resurrection (Medium)

3. Magic Up (Large) (passive)

4. All resistance up (Large) (Passive)

5. Annihilation (Focused) (Medium)

6. Auto-Heal (Large, all types of damage)

There were some really dangerous sounding skills that may lure one to the dark side was rejected from the list.

Each girl took one of gift orb, with Arisa taking Magic Up to stack with her unique and rare skill of the same kind. Arisa’s magic stat skyrocketed from the stacked passive skills. Mia was unhappy that she loses to Arisa in Janken to test out the effect of stacking Magic Up passive skill.

Sera again rejected the use of gift orbs, as she dislikes the idea of using item made from soul points.

As the other girls' talent is not suitable for resurrection magic, and legendary gift orbs are rare, they are kept for Hikaru who has natural talent in Nature and Light magic. Tama gave her Auto-Heal to Pochi. Much later on, Core-chan managed to procure a Strength-Up (Large) orb for Tama, Elemental Tempest (Focused)(Large) for Zena, and Force Art – Mega Punch for Karina. Lulu’s talent is unable to cope for her skill she is trying to obtain, so it takes time to form a skill of her wish.

So it has been decided that Hikaru that was absent can take the resurrection orb since Sena agreed to relinquish it.

“Let’s return to Solitary Island and go to Desert Subspace to test out more powerful skills” (Arisa)

“Train with Master, so I inform” (Nana)

“We can train with Heiron since Master is busy” (Liza)

“Since we have different talents, we will split to several groups. After checking everything first at Desert subspace, we can go to train at different locations” (Arisa)

The girls return to Solitary Island, changed to their casual-looking battle dress made from silk of high quality monster larva in Muno (taken from the ants in Selbira Dungeon, RIP ants), wyvern/dragon/griffon skin, and mithril and orichalcum alloy thread.

The dresses are also equipped with 40% of Castle defence in their golden/silver equipment.

“OK, here comes the TRAINING ARC, kekeke” said Arisa.

“Have been waiting to say this for a long time” (Arisa)

Unknown to Arisa and girls, a small hole the size of an ant mound present inside Dejima Labyrinth will bring huge disaster in the future.
